The enduring popularity of zombie stories might say more about us than the zombies themselves. Plagues of undead corpses provide a convenient excuse to indulge in addictive thought experiments. “In a world gone mad, would you survive?” That question is front and center in LifeAfter, a massively-multiplayer Android / iOS survival sim that’s finally being unleashed on the English-speaking world.

LifeAfter takes place in a world ravaged by a catastrophic virus. Its origins are mysterious, but its effects are not. It creates countless ravenous, highly-mobile zombies. Civilization all but falls, leaving you and a handful of others to scramble for survival.

In true survival sim fashion, you’ll start with just a few tools to harvest whatever resources you can find. You will build your skill-trees by hunting animals, recovering materials, and crafting items. Over time you’ll move from machetes and compound bows to miniguns and bazookas. So, those deer won’t stand a chance!

Your most urgent task will be building the walls of your first shelter. Don’t dawdle, because every night the infected come out en masse and you won’t want to get caught out in that mess.

Other players are out to survive too. With a full-blown PvP system, anyone you encounter could help you as easily as they would attack you. It may not come as a surprise that humanity might be the real monster after all.

Hostile players aside, the game’s slogan is „face it alone or survive together.” You can try to make a go of it yourself in the woods. Or, you can pool resources with other trustworthy souls and take a new stab at civilization.

The choice is yours!

LifeAfter offers plenty of incentive to emerge from your personal fortress and form alliances with others. The ultimate goal is to build a shared camp, which serves as a base for all your post-apocalyptic activities. You can even reclaim surrounding wastelands to build more player housing, with an elected mayor having final say over how to manage resources.

Other camps may encroach on your territory, so you can organize raiding parties to cause havoc and steal supplies. With so many opportunities to both cooperate and cause conflict with other players, LifeAfter maximizes the inherent possibilities of large-scale player interaction.

Powered by its custom-made NeoX 2.0 engine, LifeAfter is designed to include high-end features such as physical rendering, HDR, and dynamic real-time shadows. So all of the third-person survival/shooting action looks appropriately sharp.

All told, it’s not hard to see why 15 million players made LifeAfter Asia’s most popular mobile survival game of 2018. Now it’s your turn to find out for yourself: Do you have what it takes to survive… after?
